Zinc dichloride is a white crystal with deliquescence. Zinc chloride hydrate ZnCl2 · H2O is the same as mercury chloride HgCl2 · 6H2O. It cannot be completely dehydrated when heated, but forms basic salt Zn(OH)Cl.
